This Holocaust Memorial Day is the 80th year since the liberation of Auschwitz-Birkenau.

Today we remember the six million Jewish men, women and children murdered in the Holocaust and the millions of people from other persecuted groups murdered under Nazi occupation.
We must continue to learn the lessons of the Holocaust by tackling antisemitism, which has risen in recent years with disastrous consequences.

Never Again should not just be a slogan, but a call to action to tackle hatred and persecution. This year’s theme – ‘for a better future’ – echoes this sentiment. We must work to make this better future a reality for all.
