Today is Holocaust Memorial Day, a solemn moment where we reflect on the depths of evil that can be reached by people in power. The regime of oppression and persecution against Jewish people, as well as other minority communities, did not begin during World War Two, and sadly did not end with it either as we also mark atrocities around the world, including the genocides in Rwanda, Cambodia, Darfur and Bosnia during Holocaust Memorial Day.
It’s apt that alongside our commemorations of the six million Jews institutionally murdered, we continue to focus our efforts to stop ongoing attacks on human rights and bring peace to an ever unstable world.
