People tragically lose their lives, futures and loved ones to knife crime. It’s an issue we’ve unfortunately felt the devastating impact of here in Luton.
Dangerous knives including zombie knives and swords need to be banned, young people need greater support, and the vile predators who prey on kids for a life of crime, need tougher sentences.
This Government must learn from the excellent organisations we have here in Luton such as Boxing Saves Lives and Wingman Mentors, and powerful individuals being forces for change like Haleema Ali and Si Phili. I will be following up with the Minister the need for critical bleed kits and training, such as that provided by Wingman Mentors.
We do not need to lose more lives to knives. I back Labour’s plans for tougher sentences, greater support and getting dangerous weapons off our streets for good.
